g7+ held a technical meeting to review implementation of the 4th Ministerial Meeting outcome.

The g7+ held a technical meeting on tracking the implementing the g7+ work in Nairobi, Kenya, on 30 and 31 May 2016. Hosted by the World Bank, the meeting aimed to implement g7+ priorities agreed in the 4th Ministerial meeting, particularly on monitoring SDG and facilitate peer learning and cooperation among member countries.

 

The meeting was attended by g7+ national Focal Points, officials from the National Statistical Offices of g7+ countries, development partners and civil society members.  

The g7+ Focal Points and officials from National Statistical Offices shared their perspectives on implementing the SDGs at the country level. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the priority SDG indicators that will be jointly monitored. Members agreed to monitor 20 indicators in the first few years. The progress will be reported at the High-Level Political Forum every year.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the g7+ members to map out thematic areas that they would be able to share with, and learn from, each other, under g7+ flagship program Fragile-to-Fragile Cooperation. 

 

The meeting was attended by observers from CSO, World Bank, African Union, UNDP, ILO, SaferWorld, SIPRI, IDPS, PARIS21 and ODI. END.
