g7+ Statement on the Recent Conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan
The g7+ expresses its deep concern and sorrow over the recent air bombardments reportedly
carried out by Pakistan on Afghan cities, which have resulted in the tragic loss of civilian lives,
including young cricket players in Paktika province. Such actions represent a serious
violation of international norms and Afghanistan’s sovereignty, and risk further escalating
tensions between the two neighboring nations.
The g7+ calls upon both Afghanistan and Pakistan to exercise maximum restraint and to
urgently engage in dialogue to address their differences through peaceful means. The two
countries share one of the longest borders in the region, with peoples bound by deep
historical, cultural, and social ties. Any conflict between them not only inflicts suffering on
innocent civilians but also threatens the stability of the entire region, particularly amid the
growing geopolitical fragmentation.
The g7+ stands In solidarity with the people affected by this violence and urges both sides to
prioritize the protection of civilians, uphold international law, and renew their commitment
to peace, stability, and mutual coexistence.
